Go to the Alamo web-site- It is a magnificent accomplishment. All car rental providers are located in the arrivals area of the passenger terminal. I dozed off while reading your mixer description.Īlamo engines were also sold under a variety of different names : Rock Island, Empire, Lindsey-Alamo, Flying Dutchman to name some. There were some Alamo engines built that were throttle governed, but I know little. Jason Weinke who inhabits this board may have a few misc parts for a 5 hp- however if he had a fuel pump, I would have snagged it already- but who knows !! I bought a cam/cam gear from him. If you find any parts that you don't need, email me. I have seen another Alamo 3hp with this mixer and missing the fuel pump. I was able to purchase a mixer for a 2-1/2 hp Alamo- it is just a sucker type- no fuel pump needed. As far as the fuel pump goes- I need one too, but only if I can find an original overflow mixer. My literature indicates that your engine is a 5 hp. Reprint literature is available as is an occassional original piece- go to engine shows or look on Ebay.
ALAMO ENGINE MANUAL SERIAL NUMBER
This website will allow you to approximate the year of manufacture by using his serial number registry. Hi Ernest- Here's the address of the best Alamo site I know: Is there a website dealing with Alamo engines? I'm not even sure that the Wizzard Magneto was the proper and original equipment.Īny assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I am searching for the above parts as well as detailed pictures and descriptions of the engine and its component parts and technical data that will help me find the correct components for the engine. The entire fuel pump assembly is missing and I really have no idea as to how it assembled to the engine or what drove it. There is no casting number or name on the unit other than the number found on the choke valve. The fuel inlet boss is 1 15/16" in diameter actual fuel venturi is 1 11/16". The entire unit is a cast iron casting weighing about one pound. There is no flutter valve - a 1/8" hole in the rod passing through the air horn (venturi) and carrying the needle valve serves as the flutter valve. A needle valve seating into the fuel inlet line is the only fuel adjustment. Mixer valve slips into a bore in cylinder head held in place with set screw. The carburetor is updraft type with slide air choke flap valve, with the number 5 or the letter S followed by numbers 142 stamped on the flap valve.

The model is Wizzard Magneto, type 2S0, number 172909. The Magneto was manufactured by The Hercules Electric Co of Indianapolis, Ind. The fly wheel size is 2" X 26" X 1 3/4" shaft. The serial number 27852 was located on the cylinder head bore 5 3/8", stroke 6 7/8". I have just purchased an Alamo hit / miss engine.
